In this project I built my own trend story and applied it to a menswear collection for AW16/17, I Identified key outcomes of the trend such as; silhouettes, colour palettes, prints, detailing, trims and fabric choices. Westernised Ethnicity is formed from looking at the new jungle book film, the film is based in India. This trend looks deeper in modern tribal Africa and India from Jimmy Nelson’s Photography work. This trend also reflects on the collaboration of culture in the British Indian army and developing this collaboration through the trend into a westernised ethnic collection. Westernised Ethnicity will feature a warm colour palette using woven fabric, suede and leather to accentuate the collection.
